Description

Please make sure you mark your calendar for the 2018 Partner Agency Conference as we join together to share perspectives of our work, our clients, our challenges, and our victories!

Your dedicated commitment to those we serve should be celebrated and in our busy worlds it is easy to forget and celebrate the true impact of providing basic needs to others. As we did three years ago, we will once again conduct a poverty simulation that really shows a unique perspective of what our clients face each day. Not only does this exercise make us more aware of the everyday lives of others, it also highlights how important the services you provide are to these families.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada's annual conference provides a perfect opportunity to network with organizations that face the same issues that you do every day. There are not many opportunities when we can all get together and share best practices and insight about our work while we learn from each other.

Your conference registration fee covers all of your conference material, the poverty simulation, lunch and a t-shirt.

Please note, registration will not be available at the door for this year's conference. All attendees must register using Eventbrite.

Our Mission: Feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides emergency food services to families through a network of more than 150 partner agencies in a 90,000 square mile service area throughout northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the sierra in California. We serve more than 115,000 people each month, nearly half of whom are children and seniors. Last fiscal year, we provided more than 20 million meals to neighbors who were hungry. The Food Bank also plays a leading role in collaborating with other committed northern Nevada community members and organizations to address the root causes of hunger.

The Food Bank incorporated in 1983 and has operated as a 501C3 non-profit organization for nearly 40 years. We have grown from a small pantry to a regional distribution center helping many families who struggle with hunger.

We are a proud member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks. The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization and provides more than 6.6 billion meals to virtually every community in the United States. Membership means access to millions of pounds of surplus food and grocery donations.

Our Vision for the Future: Health Food. Every Person. Every Day.
